Overview
About Pickle Everything
Pickle Everything is a card game created by Jeffrey Brewslow, a toy and game industry hall-of-famer. Jeffrey is responsible for notable games such as Guesstures, Masterpiece and Ants in the Pants. Partnered with Frank Adler, a toy industry veteran and former President of Uncle Milton, they created Pickle Everything. Following the creation, their team saw the value in a mobile version.
My role
I helped collaborate with the founding team and their in house graphic designer to meet product requirements and platform functionalities. I conducted research on their existing card game and competing game applications to implement creative and interesting gamification features. Utilizing my research I created the application UI and overall functionality.
Goal
Transition their card game to a mobile friendly game to increase user aquisition, user retention and business growth.
Research
Competitor Feataure Analysis
Reviewing competitor features highlighted that users are highly drawn to fast-paced, time-sensitive gameplay. Incorporating diverse difficulty levels, rewarding win streaks, and dynamic leaderboards will create compelling gamification, consistently motivating players to return. Additionally, features like profile customization subtly enhance the user experience by allowing for personal expression, further contributing to overall player satisfaction and engagement.

Ideation
Game Plan
With competitor features in mind, I worked closely with the founding members to outline must have features for an MVP.
Goals
Ensure all features MVP features are included and functional for users.
Core Functions
Include gamification features such as streaks, leaderboards, customization, badges, and daily and weekly tasks.
Stakeholder Needs
Create high fidelity wireframes to showcase game functions.
Interface Creation
Ensure interface is easy to use and navigate, incorporating branding materials and colors.
Wires
Wireframing
The wire-framing phase focused on creating the main application functions. Our main priority was to ensure easy navigation, fun game mechanics and a fast onboarding to get users straight into the game.
Onboarding
Make onboarding fast. Users can start playing the game as soon as they download but must sign up in order to be on the leaderboard and track their game streaks.
User Profile Stats and Leadboard
Users must be able to track their game streaks, daily and weekly task completion and badges acquired through gameplay. They must also have the ability to easily see where they stand on the leaderboard.
Monetization
Include monetization features through ads and in game purchases such as avatars.

Post-Launch Strategy and Current Development
Once the game launched, we prioritized understanding our players by tracking user acquisition and collecting their feedback. This direct input has been crucial for ongoing feature improvements. We're currently deep in development, iterating on a non-verbal gameplay mode that will give users the option to type their answers, offering an alternative to verbal responses.
